Juventus midfielder is skipping over Sporting

Serie A champions six times in a row, Juventus will host Sporting CP at Allianz Stadium in the Champions League group stage continued on Wednesday local time or Thursday morning (19/10/2017).

The Bianconeri are eyeing a victory to restore confidence after Lazio’s 2-1 defeat at home to Serie A on Saturday. However, Juventus abstain belittled Sporting.

Ahead of the game, Juventus defensive midfielder, Sami Khedira warned his colleagues not to be satisfied and take lightly Sporting Lisbon. According to him, the representative of Portugal is a strong opponent.

“Sporting has shown in the previous two games, that they are not easy opponents,” Khedira told Sky.

Currently, both Juventus and Sporting have both collected three points, from once winning results and one defeat. Both are equally defeated by Barcelona and stealing victory from Olimpiacos. However, Sporting is ranked second only because of a better goal difference.

“They are Portuguese clubs, they like to play ball, we have to face this game with patience, not hurry to score in the early minutes,” said Khedira.

The weakness of Juventus

Juventus-Lazio

Khedira, who played against Lazio in Serie A, revealed that the most important thing to be addressed by his team at the moment is concentration. According to him, it was Juventus who conceded a lot of goals this season.

“We conceded a lot of goals, it was not a formation case, but about how we moved in the field,” he explained.

This season, Khedira was sidelined in several games due to injuries that hit him. Luckily, I Bianconeri have recruited new midfielders like Rodrigo Bentacur from Boca Juniors and Blaise Matuidi from PSG.

“Blaise is a player whose quality is well known, he plays with PSG and the French team, which is no surprise to me, he is a strong player, but not just that,” he said.

“As for Rodrigo, he is young but he has great talent and he does very well, he is not shy, he asks for the ball and tries to push the opponent in. He has a bright future with us,” Khedira added.
